Cristina Borregales
Cristina Borregales is a native of Venezuela, now residing in Tioga, Texas, with her husband Alvaro Rodriguez. Both Cristina and Alvaro are timed–event and cow horse trainers and have bought performance horses and trained them for clients from all over South America. Cristina won the Venezuela National Championship in Pole Bending, and the Reserve National Championship in Barrel Racing, on Poco Joe’s Choice, a 12 year-old 14.2 hand mare. Cristina is also training a four year-old registered Quarter Horse, palomino mare, Smooth Talking Devil, for fall futurities. The training facility at the Texas, Los Saltos Ranch, is a haven for horsemanship students. Traditional training techniques make Cristina and Alvaro popular instructors for all ages and disciplines.
Cristina sponsors a fall private Camarillo Performance Horsemanship Clinic for our South American contingency and Spanish-speaking students, and acts as the interpreter. Cristina is a competiting barrel racer, and a member of the National Barrel Horse Association, North Texas Team Penning Association and The American Quarter Horse Association.
