australia Clinic Highlights

enjoying the sights of Sydney Harbor.
Robert Moss, our Walkabout Tour host and sponsor along with his lovely daughters, Louise and Rebecca Moss did an outstanding job organizing our return to the beautiful land of koalas, kangaroos and kookaburras.
Donna and I personally thank the Moss family for this huge undertaking and commitment to the Sharon Camarillo Performance Horsemanship Programs.

cuddly koalas!
Our first clinic stop, Capella, Qld, is a cattle town where we enjoyed a taste of the “Bush.” For a small town, it hosts one of Queensland’s premiere equine facilities. We enjoyed comparing regional differences of the sport and the way competitors travel from one contest to another. The roads are narrow, many two lane, making transporting livestock somewhat challenging. I certainly give our Australian barrel racing sisters credit for their passion for horsemanship, their horses and competition.

and Donna Irvin.
Jane Stagg had the fastest run of the clinic to win the1D Championship and a Court’s Saddlery Freedom Fit Breast Collar. Congratulations to Emma Taylor 2D, Bec Loxford 3D, and Kathy Mitchell 4D. It was delightful to work with our Capella riders, many who traveled several hundred miles to attend the Performance Horsemanship for Better Barrel Racing program held for the first time in Queensland. Congratulations to our divisional winners, along with an additional hug and statement of gratitude to the entire group of lovely and talented riders. Keep it going Queensland, and remember to Plan the Run and Run the Plan!
Nearly 1,400 miles to the South lies Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia’s version of our Country Music Capital, Nashville, and home of the nation's premiere Australia Equine and Livestock Exhibition Center.
Though the winter weekend was cool, the excitement of the intensive college level instruction delivered by myself and Black Hawk College Equine Professor Donna Irvin, kept our toes warm and our riders interested in the next level of barrel racing horsemanship and competition.
