Clinic Highlights
May 16-17: Fundamentals and Horsemanship
May 18-19: Next Level and Horsemanship
It is always an exciting and inspiring opportunity to work with Donna Irvin and Black Hawk College. Donna offers us the opportunity to present spring and fall sessions at the beautiful and state-of-the-art Black Hawk College facilities. A variety of ages and experience make the Clinics a learning and review opportunity to strengthen skills, set performance outcomes and prepare students for barrel racing competitions.
Fundamentals and Horsemanship Fast-time Winners
Kneeling: Yvonne Skinner, 4-D; Jessica Hingtgen, 3D;
Lexi Mentgen, 2D; Jamie Lenzner, 1D.
I truly feel the educational environment of Black Hawk inspires any level or age of rider to maximize their learning opportunities. Teala Richards and Terri Wilson arrived early to audit the Performance Horsemanship Clinic and Linda Muegge stayed for the Next Level after her Performance Horsemanship experience. I want to commend our students for taking advantage of the program and the opportunity to expand their horsemanship knowledge.
Inspiring and exciting learning opportunities were provided for both our students and for Donna and me at the Next Level program. It was fun for me to have the opportunity to ride and offer demonstrations on Trigger, Donna’s newest barrel racing prospect. A beautiful palomino gelding, with Frenchman’s Guy breeding, shows all the mental and athletic aptitude to follow in Donna’s outstanding string of barrel racing horses. Thanks Donna for your dedication to making good horses and developing their potential through good horsemanship education. It truly is about education. There is nothing that builds confidence in our sport like knowing what to expect out of our horse once we enter the arena.
