Clinic Highlights
February 8-10, 2008
Part of the success of any clinic program is the quality of the facility. The beautiful covered arena, embellished with cedar fencing, good stalls and great ground conditions, made this a delightful program for horses, riders and instructors alike!
After the rider’s introduction run and video evaluation, clinic sponsors and conservators of the Kelley Bartlett Conservancy, Joe Shelnutt and his wife Ginger, joined with friends of the Bartlett Family to provide a great evening of good food and great conversation in the ranch’s beautiful Cantina de los Cielos, Cantina of the Heavens.
Originally scheduled as two, two-day clinics, we compressed both clinics to a three-day Performance Horsemanship Program and combined barrel racing evaluation, performance outcomes with technical riding skills and rewarding friendships.
There certainly is nothing like Southern hospitality and gracious personalities to assure a great experience. Cheryl Price, Jim Price (our traveling clinicians) and I agree, we enjoyed our teaching opportunity as much as our students enjoyed theirs.

From race-bred Dash Ta Fame, to cow-bred Doc Bar and Especial bloodlines, we enjoyed an exceptional group of horses and riders representing a variety of levels of competition. Across the board, race times improved in the second run, and it was obvious the riders were utilizing their clinic instruction to improve their personal performances.
