Our trip to Vacaville started out with some excitement in San Francisco, with Ariat Day at the famous Cow Palace Rodeo. I had the opportunity to share the evening with Jim and Cheryl Price as they drove down from their home in Ridgefield, Washington for our weekend of clinics.

The excitement began by co-hosting, with my friend Audrey Mansfield, her weekly television segment for Viewing the Bay, a regional show on ABC. We talked about dressing for the rodeo, and of course, Ariat was a perfect match for that venue. The evening got underway in the Ariat hospitality suite where we had a chance to meet some of the staff at Ariat who work behind the scenes to produce this great boot. I was thrilled to share announcing duties during the rodeo with rodeo announcer, Bob Feist. It was a Tour Rodeo, which translates to exciting rodeo competition in all events.

We were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to begin the first of our two clinics in Vacaville. The facility in Vacaville, Pleasant Valley Equestrian Center, made the weekend enjoyable and besides for 60 mile per hour winds one day, and rain the next, we were undercover and totally comfortable in the immaculate facility.

Ron Calef, our Camarillo Western Classic photographer from ProSportsPixOnline was on hand for our Fundamentals and Horsemanship Clinic. He took photos of clinic students, and also took photos for this website and our 2007 Pirates of the Classic posters. Clinic photos can be viewed and purchased by visiting ProSportsPixOnline.com.

Susan Van Rein is our Northern California clinic sponsor, one of my co-instructors and a member of my Performance Team. Susan, along with Cheryl, assisted me with one-on-one coaching of all students. This was a great clinic experience for all!
