Klamath Falls is a beautiful part of Oregon, and one of the few clinics I actually drive to. After all the years I’ve spent on the highway traveling to rodeos, my philosophy is that if I drive by an airport, I have driven too far! The downside is, I would like to be able to take one of my own horses to each of my clinic programs.

The Northwest consistently produces some of the best horses and riders anywhere in the country. Our Klamath Falls students were no exception. I’ll be honest, Cheryl Price and I have to be on our toes to stay ahead of these hard-riding, well-mounted competitors! By stressing the importance of using the outside rein for support and balance, and reminding our talented students to ride deep into the turn and rate straight before cuing for the turn, I am confident that across the board, each rider’s efficiency level is strengthened.

Jenny Hull and her Fast Time Tack company, our Oregon sponsor, has developed a great program for us. Daughter Jessica, one of our talented Performance Team members, helped coach riders in the Fundamentals and Horsemanship program and came back in the Next Level program as an ongoing student hungry for knowledge. As a member of my Performance Team, Jessica shares our commitment to life-long learning.

Jessica says, “After seven clinics and numerous sessions in the arena with Sharon, I learn something new in every clinic I attend.” Of course, in some of the clinics, Jessica has ridden several horses. Giving credit where credit is due, each horse we have the opportunity to ride teaches us something and gives us additional learning opportunities!
