Black Hawk College Team at the Eastern Classic
Thanks to Team Black Hawk and advisor
Donna Irvin for assisting in all aspects
of the Classic production. Left to Right:
Vicki and Erica Tomyama, Katie Hughes,
Sharon, Katie Van Este, Carly Rae Hagey,
Julie Kummer and Cheryl Price.

The Classic is designed to honor, showcase and reward the purpose and passion of our Camarillo Performance Horsemanship students, inside and out of the arena. Team Black Hawk member Katie Hughes sang the National Anthem and her rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow, while fellow teammate Carly Rae Hagey, Miss Rodeo Illinois, shared the introduction speech that she will be delivering at the Miss Rodeo America pageant during the National Finals Rodeo. Thank you to Team Black Hawk and advisor Donna Irvin for assisting in all aspects of the Classic production.

Michelle Bogdonas
Our condolences to Michelle Bogdonas who
lost her great horse, Flashin Bull, "Bully," to
colic shortly after the final run on October 5.

Michelle Bogdonas exemplified the Classic experience as she and her very talented eight year-old gelding, Flashin Bull, showcased their performance skills and consistent performance, placing in the 1D competition. It is with the deepest sadness that we report Michelle lost Bully to a severe colic shortly after her last run.

We love our horses and we love the sport of barrel racing. On behalf of the entire Camarillo Team, it is our honor to showcase the skills of both talented horses and riders. We invite you to join us at our 2009 Classic event at the Double G Farms Arena in Sterling, Illinois, October 2-4.

We welcome Suzanne Lee, who will be taking over in 2009. (Right) Our contestants enjoyed the fabulous decorations of the Wizard of the Classic at the reception. We look forward to seeing you in Sterling, Illinois, 2009, for the Super Heroes of the Classic!
