EASTERN CLASSIC 2007 HIGHLIGHTS
Flags from 10 States and Venezuela filled the Wahl Equestrian Center in Sterling, Illinois, for the 7th annual Sharon Camarillo Eastern Classic October 5-7. From the presentation of the colors by past division winners to the Rider’s Reception; Camarillo Classic Pink for Cancer Research fundraisers; horse wellness seminars presented by our own Dr. David Hayes, DVM; to the exciting awards finale, even first year contestants admit there is no other competition quite like the Sharon Camarillo Classic. The Classic truly is an event with a heart, designed to bring out the best efforts in every horse and rider.

Carina Morris, Wisconsin cowgirl and her horse, A Sharp Sir Charles (Chucky), set a Classic record by winning her 3rd Classic Championship in four years.
Be sure to see all of our 2007 Winners Circle.
Carina added yet another Court’s trophy saddle to her growing collection along with her Wrangler Endorsement contract and Farnam "Look For the Star in You" award. Honorable mention goes to Bobbie Jo Bohlman for placing 2nd and 5th in the 1D. Congratulations to our 2D-4D Division champions: Julie Meyer from Iowa, Nikki Klein from Illinois, and for the second year, Ellie Kriegel from Iowa.
Grand Entry Theme Prize winners!
Our Eastern and Midwest contestants are giving the Western Classic contestants a run for their money in the Grand Entry Theme contest. There were some outstanding pirates and wenches! Thank you, contestants, for your efforts to celebrate our annual theme. Our winner, by a close decision, and winner of the framed poster by ProSportsPixOnline was Lori Passmore and her horse Gold Astreaking. Lori not only displayed her pet parrot but hauled her found treasure chest. Ahoy Matie!
We had more pirate fun in at our Riders Reception on Friday evening. Once again, we filled the room with outstanding decorations that take many hours of planning and dedicated work to create. Thanks to everyone, both East and West for their generous time to capture our yearly theme!

Thanks to everyone who helped plan and create our pirate theme decorations!
